BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 21. The Intersectoral Energy Saving Fund under the Uzbek Ministry of Energy and Uzbek Ipoteka Bank are cooperating in the direction of providing green consumer loans, Trend reports via the Ministry of Energy.
In this regard, the parties signed a general agreement, according to which the bank will issue preferential loans at the base rate of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan. The allocation of green consumer loans is set for a period of 5 years.
As part of the cooperation between the fund and bank, it is planned to allocate a total of 54 billion soums ($4.9 million) of green consumer loans for the purchase of energy-saving technologies and equipment, including renewable energy sources.
The allocation of these loans is the practical implementation of the decisions and instructions of the president of the country on the introduction of energy-saving technologies.
Green consumer loans will help meet the growing needs of the population for energy resources and reduce greenhouse gas emissions into the environment.
