The Izmir Azerbaijan Culture and Solidarity Association organized an event to mark May 28 – Azerbaijan’s Independence Day. The gathering brought together representatives of Azerbaijani and Turkish communities, association members, and numerous guests.
In his opening remarks, the association’s chairman, Eshref Tuna, emphasized the importance of May 28 in the history of the Azerbaijani people. He noted that the brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye are built on strong and unshakable foundations, stressing that the two countries have always stood by one another. Tuna also highlighted the importance of unity, solidarity, and preserving national values.
During the event, speakers discussed Azerbaijan’s history of statehood, its national and spiritual values, and the honorable struggle it undertook to achieve independence. Gratitude was also expressed to those who contributed to the organization and success of the event.
The cultural program featured patriotic poetry recitals and musical performances. Poems performed by Roza Ibadova Kocamaz were warmly received by the audience and met with enthusiastic applause.
