As part of the projects of the State Committee on Work with the Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a summer camp titled “New Acquaintances and Happy Memories of Georgian Youth” was held in the village of Qachreti, Gurjaani Municipality, Georgia. The camp was organized by the “Bright Future” Book House with the support of the Committee.
The main aim of the camp was to bring together Azerbaijani and Georgian youth living in Georgia, provide them with opportunities to become more closely acquainted with national and cultural values, broaden their worldview, build new friendships, and spend their leisure time productively.
At the beginning of the program, the participants visited Heydar Aliyev Park in Tbilisi, where they laid wreaths and bouquets of flowers at the bust of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people and paid tribute to his memory.
At the opening ceremony, project organizer Rafail Suleymanov, employees of the State Committee on Work with the Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sabit Mammadov, Elvin Asgarov, and teacher of the Yor-Mughanli Public School Yekaterina Kaftuashvili delivered speeches. They emphasized the importance of the project in helping young people acquire new knowledge and skills, become more familiar with different cultures, expand communication and interaction, strengthen their attachment to national and spiritual values, and reinforce their sense of national identity and solidarity.
They noted that, as a result of the special attention and care given by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to diaspora policy, consistent projects are being implemented to strengthen the ties of Azerbaijanis living abroad with Azerbaijan and to preserve and promote the Azerbaijani language, national and cultural heritage, and traditions.
It was emphasized that such summer camps and joint initiatives not only contribute to the personal development of young people, but also help further strengthen the centuries-old friendship, mutual respect, and understanding between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Over the three days of the camp, the warm atmosphere that developed among the Azerbaijani and Georgian youth once again demonstrated that the traditions of historical friendship and good-neighborly relations between the two peoples are being successfully passed on to the younger generation. Participants took part together in various team games, creative workshops, and social activities, demonstrating mutual support and cooperation.
During cultural evenings, the young participants presented examples of Azerbaijani and Georgian folklore and shared their national dances, traditions, and common historical and cultural values with one another. The warm communication, mutual trust, and friendship that developed throughout the camp brought the participants together around shared values.
Joint discussions and teamwork once again demonstrated that the bonds connecting Azerbaijani and Georgian youth are based not only on a shared history, but also on strong friendship and cooperation focused on the future.
At the closing ceremony, certificates and commemorative gifts were presented to all participants who demonstrated active involvement in the project. The young people successfully completing the summer camp departed with rich impressions, new knowledge and skills, as well as friendships they hope will last for many years.
