A club dedicated to teaching Azerbaijani and Georgian traditional dances has begun operating at the “Alliance” Youth Center in Tbilisi.
The main purpose of the club is to promote the rich cultural heritage, arts and traditional dance traditions of the Azerbaijani and Georgian peoples among young people, while further strengthening cultural integration and friendly relations between Azerbaijanis and Georgian youth.
Rena Huseynova, head of the “Alliance” Youth Center, said:
“The classes are conducted by professional instructors, and participants have the opportunity to become closely acquainted with traditional dances from both Azerbaijan and Georgia. The club is important for increasing young people’s interest in cultural heritage, helping them spend their free time productively, developing their creative abilities, and strengthening communication and friendship between Azerbaijanis and Georgian youth. In the future, we plan for club members to perform together at various festivals and cultural events.”
The club’s artistic director, Ceyran Gurbanova, said participants are being taught the performance techniques of Azerbaijani traditional dances such as “Yalli,” “Tarakama” and “Gaytagi,” as well as Georgian dances including “Kartuli,” “Acharuli” and “Khorumi.” Traditional dances of other Caucasian and Turkic peoples are also included in the repertoire.
She emphasized that dance classes not only contribute to physical development and proper posture, but also help participants discover and develop their creative abilities.
There is no age limit for participation in the courses.
