An art club has started operating at the “Alliance” Youth Center in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi under the leadership of professional artist and member of the Georgian National Academy of Arts Elman Gurbanov.
The center’s Executive Director Rena Huseynova said young people’s interest in visual arts, particularly in studying at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, has been growing. She said the art club’s activities had been reorganized to support their professional training. She also noted that exhibitions featuring works by club members and their involvement in various art projects are planned for the future.
The classes are held in both theoretical and practical formats. The curriculum includes the fundamentals of visual art, academic drawing, academic art, composition, painting and various color techniques.
Art club head Elman Gurbanov said that, alongside developing young people’s creative thinking and individual skills, a special preparatory program has been introduced for those seeking admission to higher education institutions specializing in the arts.
