Azerbaijani culture showcased at Tbilisoba festival

The traditional Tbilisoba festival, celebrating Tbilisi City Day, has been held in Georgia’s capital. Organized since 1979, the festival is known for showcasing the city’s rich history, cultural diversity, and the traditions of Georgia’s various regions.

As part of the celebrations, an Azerbaijani cultural pavilion, organized jointly by the Association of Active Azerbaijani Women of Georgia and the Mirza Fatali Akhundzade Azerbaijani Culture Museum, showcased examples of Azerbaijani national cuisine and culture. Representatives of Tbilisi City Hall and the municipality also visited the pavilion and sampled traditional Azerbaijani dishes.

Performances of the Azerbaijani dances “Uzundara” and “Sari Gelin” by the “Jeyran” Azerbaijani dance ensemble were greeted with sustained applause from festivalgoers.

The presentation of Azerbaijani culture at Tbilisoba has become another example of how Azerbaijanis living in Georgia contribute to preserving their national heritage and strengthening friendship between the two peoples.
