Participants of the 7th Summer Camp for Diaspora Youth, held in East Zangezur under the slogan “Reviving Cities,” were briefed on the activities of Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Work with the Diaspora and the Azerbaijan Diaspora Support Fund, operating under the committee.
Elshad Aliyev, deputy chairman of the State Committee on Work with the Diaspora, spoke about the history of the committee’s establishment, its main areas of activity and strategic objectives. He noted that the diaspora policy founded by National Leader Heydar Aliyev has been consistently and purposefully continued under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, with significant achievements made in the field of diaspora development.
During the discussions, the committee’s large-scale projects and programs aimed at strengthening the unity and solidarity of Azerbaijanis around the world attracted particular interest from the young participants.
Akram Abdullayev, executive director of the Azerbaijan Diaspora Support Fund, noted that the fund supports projects carried out by Azerbaijani communities and diaspora organizations abroad and provides social assistance to organizations and individuals.
The meeting continued with answers to questions from the young participants.
The 7th Summer Camp for Diaspora Youth, jointly organized by Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Work with the Diaspora and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, is being held from August 2 to 8 with the participation of 123 young people from 64 countries around the world. Previous camps were held in Sheki, Shamakhi, Shusha, Nakhchivan, Lachin and Khankendi, attracting more than 700 young people from 84 countries in total.
