Azerbaijani Student Societies operating at the prestigious UK higher education institutions — University of Edinburgh, University of Glasgow, and University of Aberdeen — have addressed a letter to the Scottish Parliament on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide.
In the letter, the blessed memory of the victims of the Khojaly genocide was commemorated with deep respect. It was noted that the Scottish Parliament’s recognition of the Khojaly tragedy in 2017 holds great moral significance for the people of Azerbaijan, as well as for members of the Azerbaijani community living and studying in Scotland. The decision was described as an important step toward restoring justice and acknowledging historical truth.
The Azerbaijani Student Societies operating in Scotland stated that they will continue their efforts to promote historical justice, expand awareness-raising activities, and further disseminate Azerbaijani realities within the international academic community.
