A meeting was held with Savvati, Bishop of Bishkek and Kyrgyzstan, at the Union of Kyrgyz Societies for Friendship and Cooperation with Foreign Countries.
The meeting was attended by Arslanbek Maliyev, President of the Union and Candidate of Economic Sciences; academician Asylbek Aydaraliyev, President of the Kyrgyzstan–India Friendship Society; Akif Alaferdov, Candidate of Medical Sciences and Chairman of the Kyrgyzstan–Azerbaijan Friendship and Cooperation Association; Taken Akhmatbayev, President of the Kyrgyzstan–USA Friendship Society; Kuban Kenjebayev, President of the Kyrgyzstan–UK Friendship Society; as well as staff members of the Union.
During the meeting, participants discussed issues of mutual interest and exchanged views on the development of international humanitarian and cultural cooperation.
The participants also congratulated each other on the occasions of Novruz and Ramadan, emphasizing the importance of these holidays in strengthening spiritual unity, mutual respect, and traditions of friendship among peoples.
The sides expressed their readiness to continue holding such meetings at various levels and to expand cooperation within the framework of joint projects in the future.
It should be noted that Akif Alaferdov was awarded the “Progress” medal by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on January 7, 2026, for his contributions to strengthening friendship among peoples and the development of the Azerbaijani diaspora.
