Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Vagif Seyidbayov, met with Dr. Vugar Suleymanov, an active member of the Azerbaijani community living in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
During the meeting, Seyidbayov noted that the Azerbaijani state highly values the activities of compatriots who actively contribute to diaspora-building efforts. He particularly highlighted Suleymanov’s engagement in diaspora affairs and his charitable work alongside his long-standing medical career abroad.
It was emphasized that Suleymanov’s multifaceted activities have played an important role in strengthening solidarity among Azerbaijanis living abroad and promoting Azerbaijan’s national interests internationally.
During the meeting, the Azerbaijani “Medal for Service in Diaspora Activities” was presented to Vugar Suleymanov in recognition of his contributions.
Suleymanov expressed his sincere gratitude to the Azerbaijani state for the high honor and stated that he would continue his efforts to strengthen the Azerbaijani diaspora and enhance the country’s international reputation.
The participants also exchanged views on the role of Azerbaijanis living abroad in the development of the diaspora, strengthening national solidarity, and initiatives aimed at promoting Azerbaijan on the international stage.
It was noted that Vugar Suleymanov was among the Azerbaijani doctors sent to work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1998 at the initiative of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. He currently serves as Head of the Surgery Department at the Central Hospital in Al Jubail and continues to work as a surgeon.
