An event titled "Azerbaijani Language and Our Cultural Heritage" was held at the Alliance Youth Center in Tbilisi, Georgia. The event was jointly organized by Azerbaijan's State Committee on Work with Diaspora and the Maarif organization operating in Georgia.
The event was attended by Shafag Binnetova, deputy head of a department at the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, Fuad Chiragov, a representative of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Georgia, as well as principals and teachers from Azerbaijani-language schools in Tbilisi, Rustavi, and the municipalities of Marneuli, Bolnisi, Dmanisi, Gardabani, and Lagodekhi.
In her remarks, Aygul Isayeva, director of the Maarif organization, spoke about the importance of learning the Azerbaijani language and the initiatives being implemented to promote it.
Shafag Binnetova highlighted the Azerbaijani state's continued support for compatriots and diaspora communities living abroad. She noted that President and Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev consistently pays close attention to issues concerning Azerbaijanis living overseas.
Fuad Chiragov emphasized the Azerbaijani government's support for compatriots abroad and stressed the importance of preserving the Azerbaijani language and passing it on to future generations.
Other speakers also shared their views, noting that a nation's mother tongue is an invaluable part of its identity, reflecting its history, culture, rich vocabulary, traditions, beliefs, moral values, and worldview.
At the end of the event, a group of teachers received certificates of appreciation for their active role in promoting national and spiritual values among the younger generation.
