A delegation from Azerbaijan's State Committee on Work with Diaspora, led by Deputy Head of Department Tural Safarov, met with Ramiz Ansarov, the mayor of Orhei, Moldova.
The meeting was also attended by Jahangir Salimkhanov, adviser to Azerbaijan's Minister of Culture, committee representative Tahmasib Atakishiyev, Chairman of the Congress of Azerbaijanis of Moldova Elchin Bayramov, and Chairman of the organization's Council Ramil Adigozalov.
The delegation congratulated Ansarov on his election as mayor of Orhei, describing his victory as an important achievement for the Azerbaijani community in Moldova. They noted that his success reflects the active participation and successful integration of Azerbaijani diaspora members into the country's public and political life.
The participants discussed the activities of the Azerbaijani community in Moldova, efforts to strengthen solidarity among compatriots, and the importance of preserving traditions of mutual support. They also emphasized the role of diaspora representatives in public life and highlighted the value of such meetings in reinforcing community ties.
The sides further explored opportunities for future cooperation and discussed potential projects aimed at supporting the development of Orhei. They stressed the importance of continuing collaboration in the identified areas.

The Azerbaijani delegation visited Moldova to attend "Love and the Sea," a musical memorial evening dedicated to the renowned singer Muslim Magomayev, organized by the Congress of Azerbaijanis of Moldova in Chisinau.
