Azerbaijani music showcased during diaspora gathering in Belgrade

A meeting with the Azerbaijani community in Serbia's capital, Belgrade, continued with a cultural program celebrating Azerbaijan's rich musical heritage.

The concert featured Jasmina Trumbetaš, the first female soprano of the Belgrade National Opera Theatre, head of the Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Belgrade, and a participant in the First Forum of Azerbaijani Cultural Ambassadors held in Antalya, Türkiye. She was joined on stage by pianist Mina Ristić Jonić and violinist Katarina Nenadović.

The performers presented a selection of works from Azerbaijan's musical treasury, including Muslum Magomayev's My Dear Mother, Uzeyir Hajibeyli's Nigar's Aria from the opera Koroghlu, Niyazi's Dream, and Jovdat Hajiyev's Ballade for Piano. The performances received a warm response from the audience.

One of the most memorable moments of the evening was the performance of the beloved Azerbaijani folk song Sari Gelin. Another highlight was the appearance of Amin Saadatov, a third-grade piano student at the Stanislav Binički Music School, whose performance was met with great interest.

In recent years, Azerbaijan's State Committee on Work with Diaspora has regularly organized meetings with Azerbaijani communities living abroad to hear their views and concerns while strengthening a unified diaspora network. The gathering with compatriots in Belgrade was another important step in that effort.
