Strengthening relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan based on the common values of our peoples, historical ties, and the strategic goals defined by our states is of great importance. In activities carried out in this direction, the role of civil society institutions is particularly emphasized, and their initiatives make a significant contribution to deepening bilateral relations.
In this context, Parviz Mammadzade, advisor to the chairman of the Federation of Turkish Azerbaijan Associations (TADEF), held a series of high-level meetings. He met with Kürşat Zorlu, Vice Chairman of the Justice and Development Party of Türkiye, Abdullah Eren, President of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), and Professor Abdurrahman Ali, President of the Yunus Emre Institute.
During the meetings, an extensive exchange of views took place on further developing Türkiye–Azerbaijan relations, preparing new projects serving common interests, and expanding existing cooperation opportunities. In particular, prospects for joint projects in education, culture, diaspora activities, youth policy, and public diplomacy were discussed.
It was noted that strengthening institutional cooperation, increasing coordination, and establishing sustainable support mechanisms are essential for the effectiveness of the projects to be implemented. In this regard, the conceptual foundations of the projects, implementation mechanisms, and financial-organizational issues were discussed in detail.
In addition, broad discussions were held on organizing joint diaspora activities in a more systematic way, strengthening relations between Azerbaijani and Turkish communities living abroad, acting from a unified position, and increasing joint initiatives. As a result of the meetings, mutual agreement was reached on implementing a number of new projects.
It was emphasized that all these initiatives serve to further strengthen the fraternal relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan, contribute to the integration of the Turkic world, and realize common strategic objectives.
