Bolnisi hosts 75th anniversary event for Valeh Hajiyev

An event dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the late scholar, poet, and public figure Valeh Hajiyev (Valeh Hacılar) was held in Bolnisi, Georgia, organized by the Caucasus Law and Integration Center.

The event took place at the Mirza Fatali Akhundzade Azerbaijani Cultural Museum operating in Tbilisi.

At the beginning, the memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and Georgia, as well as the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the late Valeh Hacılar, was honored with a minute of silence.

Rezo Hasanov, director of the center, spoke about the scholar’s life and work, emphasizing that his rich scientific and literary heritage serves as an example for young people.

Other speakers discussed his scientific, pedagogical, and literary activities, noting his role in the development of literary and cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia. It was also highlighted that, due to his fundamental research on Georgian literature and culture, he was awarded the Georgian state “Order of Honor.”

A documentary film was then shown about Valeh Hacılar’s meetings with National Leader Heydar Aliyev, his speech at the First World Congress of Azerbaijanis in 2001, as well as his life and creative work.
