Diaspora educators call for reforms in Azerbaijani-language schools

A meeting with Azerbaijani teachers was held at the Azerbaijan House operating in the city of Marneuli, Georgia. The event was organized on the initiative of Aygul Isayeva, head of the “Maarif” organization and PhD in economics.

During the meeting, participants discussed the challenges faced by Azerbaijani-language schools in Georgia, ways to improve the quality of education, the teaching of both Georgian and the native language, as well as the “1+4” program and other educational issues.

Speakers emphasized the importance of improving the quality of instruction in both Georgian and the native language in Azerbaijani-language schools and highlighted the need to strengthen monitoring of the educational process by relevant authorities.

At the end of the meeting, an appeal was read and unanimously adopted, calling for an increase in the number of hours dedicated to the native language in Azerbaijani-language schools, as well as improvements in the quality of Georgian language teaching. The appeal was addressed to the relevant state bodies of Georgia.
