An event dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held in Paris. The event was organized by the France-Azerbaijan Dialogue Association with the support of the Coordination Council of Azerbaijanis in France.
Azerbaijan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to France, Leyla Abdullayeva, welcomed the guests and spoke about Heydar Aliyev’s unparalleled role in strengthening Azerbaijani statehood, increasing the country’s international standing, and shaping the development strategy of modern Azerbaijan. The ambassador noted that the political legacy of the prominent statesman continues to guide Azerbaijan’s path of development and that the principles of statehood established by him are being successfully continued today.
Political analyst Eric Gozlan emphasized Heydar Aliyev’s exceptional services in the formation of independent Azerbaijan, strengthening stability in the country, ensuring economic development, and expanding international relations. He particularly highlighted the significance of the “Contract of the Century,” signed in 1994 and regarded as the cornerstone of the new oil strategy authored by Heydar Aliyev, describing it as an important milestone in the country’s economic development.
During the artistic part of the event, performances by French cellist Laure Volpato and Japanese-born pianist and composer Azusa Lozinguez delighted the guests. Classical and modern European music, as well as Azerbaijani composer Adila Huseynzade’s work “Sonatina,” were warmly applauded.
Guests noted that such events contribute to strengthening cultural ties between Azerbaijan and France and help promote Azerbaijani culture abroad.
