BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 21. The current loan portfolio of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) projects in Uzbekistan was estimated at 1.8 billion euros as of May 1,2022, Trend reports via the bank.
The loan portfolio is designed for implementation of 110 projects, of which 55 are already being implemented.
The largest part of the project portfolio (67 percent or 1.2 billion euros) is directed to investments in sustainable infrastructure, 24 percent or 442 million euros to investments in financial institutions, and 9 percent or 166 million euros to industry, trade and the agricultural sector.
Last year, the EBRD provided loans in the amount of 607 million euros for the implementation of 22 projects in Uzbekistan, and over the past four years, this figure has reached 2 billion euros for lending to 71 projects in the public and private sectors of the country.
