BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 16. Tajikistan increased the volume of electricity exports from January through May 2022, Trend reports with the reference to avesta.tj.
The total amount of Tajikistan's electricity exports amounted to $26.7 million from January through May 2022, which is an increase of 10.3 percent compared to the same period of last year ($24.2 million).
Thermal power plants of Tajikistan produced 805 million kW/h of electricity in the first five months of this year. However, plants in the reporting period have reduced electricity generation by 18.4 percent compared to the same period in 2021.
Among the main importers of Tajikistan's electricity in the reporting period were Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.
