BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 27. Georgia is interested in natural gas supplies from Turkmenistan, Trend reports via “Business Turkmenistan” news agency.
This was stated by the Director General of the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation (GOGC) George Chikovani at the 27th "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan -2022" International Conference, which started on October 26, which was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
He noted that Georgia is currently interested in natural gas supplies from Turkmenistan and added that he calls for a broader dialogue between the EU and the governments of the South Caucasus, Central Asian countries and industry representatives.
Chikovani stressed that today Turkmenistan has enough reserves to cover the growing demand for gas.
Recently, a Turkmen delegation headed by the Director of the State Commodity and Raw Material Exchange of Turkmenistan Yusuf Amansaryev visited Georgia and held a meeting with the Director General of the GOGC George Chikovani during which they discussed the current situation and plans in the energy sector.
