The regulatory capital of the banks of Uzbekistan amounted to 81.5 trillion soums ($7.3 billion) as of October 1, 2022, which is an increase of 24.7 percent compared to the same period last year (65.3 trillion soums or $5.8 billion), Trend reports referring to the Uzbek Central Bank.
During this period, the capital of the first tier accounted for 66.8 trillion soums ($5.9 billion), which is an increase of 20.8 percent, compared to the same period in 2021 (55.3 trillion soums, or $4.9 billion).
The capital of the second tier as of October 1, 2022, increased by 46 percent and reached 14.7 trillion soums ($1.3 billion). As of October 1, 2021, this indicator amounted to 10 trillion soums ($902.4 million).
At the same time, the capital of the first tier accounted for 82 percent of the total regulatory capital, and the second tier accounted for 18 percent.
