Kazakhstan boosts oil production, export volumes

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 25. The volume of oil production in Kazakhstan grew in May 2022, Trendreports via the Bureau of National statistics under the Agency for Strategic planning and reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

According to the bureau, this figure amounted to 6.5 million tons, up by 4.4 percent compared to May 2021 and 3.1 percent more than in April 2022.

From January through May 2022, 31.8 million tons of oil were produced, which is 5.1 more than in the same period last year.

A total of 5.7 million tons of this volume were exported in May 2022, which means an increase of 12.1 percent compared to the same month in 2021 and a decline of 8.8 percent compared to April 2022.

Exports for the period from January through May 2022 amounted to 30.1 million tons, up by 12 percent in annual terms.

A total of 748,900 tons of oil were sold on the domestic market in May 2022, which is 31.6 percent less than in May 2021 and two times less than in April this year.

Sales in the domestic market amounted to 1.7 million tons of oil in the period from January through May 2022, which is 50.2 percent less than in the same period last year.
