Azerbaijan – Uzbekistan Friendship Museum opens in Tashkent

The opening ceremony of the Azerbaijan – Uzbekistan Friendship Museum dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev’s birth was held at the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Uzbekistan.

The participants of the event laid flowers at the bust of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people.

After cutting the opening ribbon of the museum, the guests got acquainted with various sections and exhibits of the museum.

Director of the Center Samir Abbasov informed about the Friendship Museum, spoke about the historical friendship and fraternal relations between people of the two countries. He noted that relations with Uzbekistan are always important for Azerbaijan, meetings of heads of state, and daily developing cooperation has risen to the level of strategic partnership.

Mr. Abbasov said that the work on the Friendship Museum, created over many years by the Azerbaijan Cultural Center, was recently completed. The museum presents corners and exhibits, models, interesting publications reflecting historical friendship, common values, state symbols, maps, national cultural heritage, the proximity of the two peoples. He noted the invaluable merits of the great leader in establishing relations, friendship and cooperation between the countries and noted that it was for this reason that the opening of the museum was timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev’s birth.

The Friendship Museum has photo stands about the meetings of the heads of state Ilham Aliyev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, their ideas and slogans about historical friendship and brotherhood between the countries, about the closeness of people.

The central part of the museum has a unique painting by Azerbaijani artists about the values that unite the Azerbaijani and Uzbekistan people, as well as stands, corners, models, costumes, national musical instruments about international festivals held in both countries, language, religion, the national holiday Navruz, mugham and maqom, the art of ashug and bakhshi, which are common values demonstrating the closeness of people of the two countries.

The section “Famous Azerbaijanis in Uzbekistan” of the museum presents busts and personal belongings of Said Rza Alizade, poets Maqsud Sheikhzade, Ikhtiyar Rza, statesman Aydin Azimbekov, sculptor Eynulla Aliyev, artist Yusif Huseynov, who took an active part in the social and cultural life of fraternal Uzbekistan.
