Kyrgyzstan will print passports and banknotes on its own in the near future, President Sadyr Zhaparov told during a meeting with acting Minister of Education and Science Kanybek Imanaliev.
The head of state noted that now the Uchkun state enterprise is provided with modern equipment.
“In the future, no government paper should be produced in private companies. Everything will be printed only in Uchkun. We are 100% successful. God forbid, in the future we will print banknotes and passports ourselves. Since May of this year, we will start printing citizens' passports ourselves. Previously, passport forms, technical passports, driver's licenses were printed in private companies. If the state allocated 15 billion soms, of which the funds were not returned to the state either in taxes or in income. And if we print at Uchkun at the expense of the state, then we will receive no less than 3 billion soms in the form of taxes,” Sadyr Zhaparov said.
