BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 14. Kyrgyzstan's energy sector is at the stage of revival and by 2026 the country's electricity generation will increase, said the Energy Minister of Kyrgyzstan Doskul Bekmurzaev, Trend reports via Kyrgyz Media.
According to him, large-scale projects for the reconstruction of generating capacities and the construction of new HPPs in the coming year will help to increase the country's generation of electricity by more than 400 MW.
"Currently, the rehabilitation work of the Toktogul and At-Bashy HPPs is underway, as well as the modernization of the Uch-Korgon HPP and the commissioning of the second unit of the Kambar-Ata-2 HPP.
In addition, Bekmurzaev noted that nowadays Kyrgyzstan is in the process of implementing reforms in energy sector, which are aimed to increase cost efficiency and the effectiveness of energy companies.
Bekmurzaev also pointed out that efforts are being made to overhaul the country's energy industry in order to increase cost efficiency and the effectiveness of energy companies.
