Income of Iran’s Mellat Bank soars

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 19. The income of Iran’s Mellat Bank increased by 68.2 percent during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing IBENA News Agency.

The income of Mellat Bank for 8 months exceeded 730 trillion rials (about $17.4 billion), while the figure stood at 434 trillion rials (about $10.3 billion) in the same period last Iranian year.

In 8 months, Mellat Bank's income from loans amounted to approximately 586 trillion rials (about $13.9 billion), which is an increase of 65 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. This figure was 353 trillion rials (about $8.41 billion) in the same period last Iranian year.

Meanwhile, the bank's income from deposits for the reporting period amounted to 58.7 trillion rials (about $1.4 billion), which is 270 percent more than in the same period last Iranian year. Whereas, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure was 15.8 trillion rials (about $377 million).

In addition, Mellat Bank's income from bonds amounted to 22.4 trillion rials (about $533 million) in eight months. This is a decrease of 5.4 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. The figure amounted to 23.7 trillion rials (about $565 million) in the same period last Iranian year.

Over 8 months, Mellat Bank's investment income was 2.58 trillion rials (about $61.4 million), which is a decrease of 62 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, the bank’s investment income was about 4.18 trillion rials (about $99.5 million) in the same period last Iranian year.

Moreover, the Mellat Bank's commission income for 8 months stood at 60.9 trillion rials (about $1.45 billion). This is 78 percent more than in the same period last Iranian year. The figure amounted to 34.2 trillion rials (about $815 million).
