Vienna hosts Ashraf Heybatov anniversary exhibition

A solo art exhibition titled “Azerbaijan – A Country in the Memory of Colors” has opened at the Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Vienna, marking the 75th anniversary of People’s Artist Ashraf Heybatov.

The artworks displayed at the exhibition vividly portray Azerbaijan’s rich nature, historical landmarks, people, traditions, and national-spiritual values. Azerbaijan is depicted not merely as a geographical location, but as a place that leaves a lasting impression in people’s memory and evokes a deep sense of belonging.

Leyla Gasimova, head of the Azerbaijani Cultural Center, informed guests about the exhibition and emphasized that the artist’s paintings reflect national identity through a modern artistic approach.

People’s Artist Ashraf Heybatov stated that themes related to Azerbaijan form the core of his creative work. He expressed gratitude to the organizers for the attention shown on the occasion of his юбilee.

It should be noted that Ashraf Heybatov has been awarded the “Taraggi” Medal and the “For Service in Diaspora Activities” Medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan by relevant decrees of President Ilham Aliyev for his significant contributions to diaspora activities, strengthening ties between diaspora organizations and Azerbaijan, and promoting objective information about the country internationally.

Currently residing in Germany, the artist is a member of the UNESCO Artists Federation and has been awarded the international diploma of “Ambassador of Peace.” In addition to being a member of the Azerbaijan Artists’ Union, he is also affiliated with the Azerbaijan–Germany Friendship Society and the German Artists’ Association.
