The essay competition “Azerbaijan in My Words” for students of the Compulsory Education School under the Faculty of Education at Shimane University in Matsue, Japan has concluded.
About 200 students participated in the competition. The students wrote essays expressing their thoughts about Azerbaijan based on the information provided to them on various topics related to the country.
As a result of the evaluation, three students were selected as the main winners, and 15 students received encouragement awards. The award ceremony was attended by local media representatives, heads of prefectural education departments, and parents. Guests emphasized the importance of the project and highlighted that initiatives like this play a significant role in building cultural bridges between nations. Many participants expressed their desire to maintain connections with Azerbaijan in future educational and cultural activities.
It should be noted that the competition was organized by Ləman Tarverdiyeva, a Japanese government scholar and winner of the grant competition of the Azerbaijan Diaspora Support Fund under the State Committee on Work with Diaspora. The main goal of the competition was to educate Japanese students about Azerbaijani history and culture while promoting their creative skills.
