Harvard University welcomes new Azerbaijani student society

A new organization called the Harvard Undergraduate Azerbaijani Society (HUAS) has been established at Harvard University on the initiative of Azerbaijani students. This organization was created to strengthen communication, mutual collaboration, and solidarity among Azerbaijani students at Harvard as well as at nearby higher education institutions.

In addition, the organization will support students coming together in academic, cultural, and social activities, while also carrying out educational initiatives related to Azerbaijani culture, history, and heritage.

The future activities of HUAS include organizing cultural events, hosting academic discussions and panel meetings, and establishing connections with Azerbaijani student organizations active in the U.S. and other countries.

The founders of HUAS are Harvard undergraduates Gəndab Məmmədova and Ayla Əliyeva. Both students are distinguished not only by their academic achievements but also by their active participation in community initiatives. They participated in the 2nd American–Azerbaijani Youth Forum held at George Mason University, where they engaged in discussions on youth activism, cultural identity, and international collaboration.

The establishment of such a student society at Harvard is seen as a positive initiative that strengthens ties among Azerbaijani youth, encourages their active participation in the international academic environment, and promotes Azerbaijani culture.
