BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 21. Iran exported 71,000 tons of non-oil products worth approximately $31.5 million to African countries, during the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2023), member of the international and foreign trade committee of the House of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran, Deputy Chairman of the Iranian-African Businessmen's Club Rouhollah Latifi said on social media, Trend reports.
Latifi said that the non-oil exports decreased by 73 percent in value compared to the same month in the last Iranian year.
He added that Iran’s goods were exported to 23 out of 54 countries of the African continent for the reporting month.
The official noted Iran mainly exported non-oil products worth approximately $15.3 million to Ghana, worth $9.22 million to the Republic of South Africa, worth $1.94 million to Tanzania, worth $1.2 million to Kenya, and worth $1 million to Sudan in the 1st month.
According to him, Iran mainly exported 29,600 tons of iron and steel products worth $16.2 million, 27,000 tons of urea worth $7.88 million, 3,340 tons of food products worth $2.79 million, 6,000 tons of bitumen worth $1.79 million to African countries within the mentioned month.
In total, Iran exported 2.45 million tons of non-oil products worth $1.18 billion to African countries, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023).
Overall, Iran exported about 10.5 million tons of non-oil products worth approximately $3.65 billion for the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2023).
This is a decrease of 12.9 percent in value, while an increase of 17.7 percent in volume compared to the same month in the last year.
