In recent years, the intense meetings held with Azerbaijani communities abroad and the existence of concrete mechanisms of activity have given a significant boost to the development of the diaspora. At the meeting of Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with the Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with the Azerbaijani community living in Hungary, the diaspora development concept and activity principles adapted to the global world order were discussed.
Held within the framework of the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty” and dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the glorious Victory achieved in the Patriotic War, the meeting began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a moment of respect for the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of the country.
The chairman emphasized that the diaspora policy implemented under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev meets the requirements of the modern era and further accelerates the unity of Azerbaijanis worldwide, and provided information about the committee’s projects.
Tahir Taghizade, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Hungary, highly appreciated the activity of the diaspora and stated that the process of community formation is accelerating.
Ibrahim Safarli, head of the Azerbaijan House in Budapest, presented a report, spoke about the work carried out to strengthen relations both within the community and between the community and the local society, and expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani state for its support.
Community members noted that the Azerbaijani diaspora has entered a new stage of development, achieved success in socio-political directions, discussed topics such as brain drain and brain gain, and presented proposals for future perspectives.
Alongside compatriots, Hungarians who study the Azerbaijani language at the weekend school of the Azerbaijan House also attended the meeting.
At the event, medals of the Republic of Azerbaijan “For Service in Diaspora Activity” were presented to compatriots who were honored.
The meeting concluded with an artistic segment featuring performances by diaspora members.
