BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 10. The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan issued a resolution according to which, from January 1, 2023, the Tax Free system will be introduced to refund to foreign citizens the amounts of VAT paid on the purchase of certain types of goods from entrepreneurs engaged in retail trade in Uzbekistan, Trend reports via the Uzbek State Tax Committee.
The list of goods includes fruits and nuts, perfumes and cosmetics, leather and fur products, wooden products, carpets, wicker baskets, silk products, clothes and accessories for it, shoes, ceramic products, knives, scissors, kitchen utensils, household appliances, telephones, record devices, watches, toys and sporting goods.
It will be possible to issue a refund at the airports of Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Fergana and Urgench. From 2024, the system will be gradually expanded to all border crossing points.
