Caspian–Turkish fusion cuisine among Canberra’s top restaurants

“Caspian–Turkish Fusion Cuisine,” operating in Canberra, the capital of the Commonwealth of Australia, has been listed among the city’s best restaurants in the 2025 ranking published by the prestigious culinary platform “Restaurant Guru” and was awarded a certificate in recognition of this achievement.

The restaurant is owned by Hajar Koç, the executive director of the Azerbaijan Associations Alliance in Australia, a long-time resident of Australia, fashion designer, and founder of the fashion house “Maison de Challie.” Hajar Koç opened “Caspian–Turkish Fusion Cuisine” in November 2024 to promote Azerbaijani national cuisine in Australia. The restaurant’s interior features photographs, national souvenirs, and musical instruments from Azerbaijan, creating a cultural atmosphere and giving guests the opportunity to experience Azerbaijani culture firsthand.

At “Caspian–Turkish Fusion Cuisine,” guests can enjoy selected dishes from Azerbaijani cuisine as well as a variety of Turkish dishes. Foreign visitors have praised the restaurant’s Azerbaijani offerings, and it has received consistently positive reviews. Achieving this recognition shortly after opening is considered an important milestone for promoting Azerbaijani cuisine in Australia.

It is worth noting that on December 31, the restaurant hosted a holiday event for the Azerbaijani community in Canberra, celebrating the International Day of Solidarity of Azerbaijanis and the New Year. Participants shared a spirit of unity and congratulated each other on the upcoming holiday. The event was attended by Vagif Jafarov, the chargé d’affaires of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Commonwealth of Australia.
