At the Christmas market held in Geneva, Switzerland, the performance titled “Journey. Along the Araz… spirits travel” was showcased. The choreography and stage design of the show were created by Azerbaijani-born Mariya Khan-Khoyskaya and Spanish-born Kristina Faraula.
The Azerbaijani national dance “Nalbaki” was warmly applauded. The dance was performed by Mariya Khan-Khoyskaya, Kristina Faraula, and her Swiss student Pema Giyon. In addition, dances accompanied by folk songs such as “Lalələr” and “Ay Laçın” delighted the audience.
The performance also featured Iranian musician Sara Axavan playing the setar and kopuz, and singing songs in Azerbaijani and Persian, which attracted great interest from the audience.
