Toğrul Aliyev, a doctoral student living in Genoa, Italy, a researcher in international security and political studies, and a diaspora activist, has been selected as a Young European Ambassador (YEA) for 2026–2027.
The Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) initiative was launched in 2016 under the European Union’s (EU) “EU NEIGHBOURS east” Regional Communication Program. The initiative brings together young people from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Armenia, as well as EU member states and the United Kingdom, connecting them in a non-political, voluntary, and dynamic communication network.
The network aims to raise awareness about the EU’s cooperation with Eastern Partnership countries, support political dialogue on various topics, and promote joint action for a better future.
Notably, Toğrul Aliyev studied in Turkey and Italy and gained experience in several European countries through the Erasmus+ program. Actively involved in diaspora projects, he participated in the 6th Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth in Khankendi and is a member of the Azerbaijan Diaspora Youth (ADY) organization.
