TEHRAN, Iran, July 14. Iran has reached self-sufficiency in corn fodder production, reaching about 15 million of annual production, said Director of Grain and Essential Products Department in Iran's Ministry of Agriculture, Faramak Azizkarimi, Trend reports via IRNA.
"The country's annual need for corn fodder is 15 million tons - this amount is currently being produced and used by animal farmers," he said.
Azizkarimi made the remarks during the launch of a corn silo in Agricultural Research Center of Tehran Province at Varamin County.
Considering the effects of Russia – Ukraine conflict, it is necessary to supply essential products and Iran is improving in this regard with efforts of farmers.
Agricultural Research Center of Tehran province is providing educational workshop and offers new scientific projects in farming and animal farming.
