Kyrgyzstan int'l railway administrations discuss transport project

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 1. Kyrgyzstan's Cholpon-Ata, representatives of the railway administrations of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Turkey, as well as Azerbaijani logistics company, discussed issues on the development of an international multimodal route, Trend reports via "Kyrgyz Temir Zholu" (Railways of Kyrgyzstan).

The coordinated efforts of the participants of the multimodal corridor project "Countries of the Asia-Pacific region - China - Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Azerbaijan - Georgia - Turkey - Europe" help to increase the volume of cargo transportation, speed up the movement of container trains, and organize combined transportation of goods along this route.

"This development project has significantly expanded its boundaries and now serves as an effective platform for solving current issues of strengthening interaction between railway administrations, logistics companies and other participants of the project," General Director of Kyrgyz Temir Zholu Azamat Sakiyev said.

As a result of the meeting, a protocol was signed, which aims to further develop the multimodal route of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region - China - Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Azerbaijan - Georgia - Turkey - Europe.
