TEHRAN, Iran, July 18. Iran's Secretary of High Council for Free Trade-Industrial and Special Economic Zones Saeed Mohammad announced the country`s plan to establish a joint free trade zone between Iran and Russia in the near future, Trend reports citing Mehr.
Mohammad made the remarks during separate meetings with lawmakers at the Russian State Duma, and Sergey Milushkin, the director-general of the "Lotus" Special Economic Zone.
Iranian and Russian officials have agreed to expand bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
In recent days, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved the law on ratification of the protocol to the provisional agreement signed on May 17, 2018 and leading to the establishment of the free trade zone between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Iran.
