A delegation led by the Director of the Uzatom Agency, Azim Akhmedkhodjayev, is currently on a working visit to China, UzA reports.
A meeting was held at the office of CNOS, a subsidiary of the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) responsible for international projects, with representatives of Uzatom, Russia’s state corporation Rosatom, and the Chinese company Shanghai Electric.
During the negotiations, Shanghai Electric presented information on its production capabilities in manufacturing turbine equipment, and the parties discussed prospects for adapting this equipment to meet the requirements of the nuclear power plant project in Uzbekistan. They also addressed the production and supply of equipment for the non-nuclear island of the plant, along with its technical specifications.
Following the meeting, the Chinese side proposed signing a trilateral agreement between Uzatom, Rosatom, and CNNC, which would define CNNC’s role and responsibilities in constructing the nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan.
