BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 21. Trade turnover between Georgia and Kyrgyzstan amounted to $16.8 million in January 2023, Trend reports with reference to the preliminary data of the National Statistic Office of Georgia.
During the reporting period, the value of Georgian exports to Kyrgyzstan amounted to $16.4 million, increasing by more than 11 times from the same period of 2022 ($1.4 million). Thus, Kyrgyzstan became one of the top trading partners of Georgia in the terms of exports in the first month of this year. Its share in total Georgian exports amounted to 3.6 percent.
In January 2023, Georgia supplied to Kyrgyzstan mostly machinery and transport equipment - for $16 million, as well as food and live animals ($171,320), mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials ($88,610), chemicals ($42,810), beverages and tobacco ($35,840) and others.
During the reporting period, the value of Georgian imports from Kyrgyzstan made up $356,200, increasing from $172,580 in January 2022 (mainly food and live animals worth $214,000).
The total foreign trade turnover of Georgia made up $1.4 billion in January 2023. The value of exports from Georgia amounted to $458 million, while the imports reached $1 billion.
