BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 13. Turkish ports transshipped over 32.8 million tons of cargo in June 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye told Trend.
According to the ministry, in the reporting month, ships under the flag of Türkiye through the local ports transported 2.33 million tons of cargo, and ships under the flags of other countries – 30.5 million tons.
Meanwhile, the Turkish ports transshipped 6.3 million tons of transit cargo, the ministry said.
The ports of Türkiye handled 197.2 million tons of cargo from January through June 2022.
During the specified period, cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Türkiye through local ports amounted to 13.7 million tons, while by ships under the flags of other countries – 183.4 million tons, the ministry noted.
Turkish ports handled 41.59 million tons of transit cargo in the first half of this year.
The ports of Türkiye handled 386.3 million tons of cargo in 2021.
Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 29.9 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries - 356.3 million tons last year.
Besides, Turkish ports handled 78 million tons of transit cargo in 2021.
