A meeting with the Azerbaijani community was held in Doha, capital of Qatar, on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the Glorious Victory.
The meeting, organized by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, was attended by the members of the Azerbaijani diaspora, the family of martyr of the Patriotic War Fuad Mammadov, veteran of the Patriotic War Magsud Hasanov, living in this country.
The event commenced with the playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a minute of silence to honor the dear memory of the martyrs.
Elshad Aliyev, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, conveyed Committee Chairman Fuad Muradov’s greetings and congratulations on the 5th anniversary of our historical Victory to the participants. He provided detailed information about the Committee’s activities and implemented projects. He emphasized that, regardless of where the Azerbaijani diaspora lives in the world, it serves our national interests and plays an important role in conveying our country’s rightful voice to the international community. He recalled that during the Patriotic War, Azerbaijanis around the world demonstrated unity and solidarity. In this context, he noted that the activities of the Azerbaijani community in Qatar hold particular importance.
Eldaniz Musayev, Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Qatar, stated that the Karabakh Victory has been inscribed in golden letters in the history of the Azerbaijani people. He noted that the unity of the Azerbaijani community living in Qatar is based on mutual trust, friendship, and shared interests.
In her remarks, Matanat Mammadova, mother of Patriotic War martyr Fuad Mammadov, said that they have always felt the attention and care of the state, noting that this is a great moral support for the families of martyrs. She expressed her gratitude that the cherished memory of the martyrs is always honored and held in high regard.
As part of the event, a video dedicated to the 5th anniversary of our historic Victory, which also featured President Ilham Aliyev’s remarks about the Azerbaijani diaspora, was shown.
Community members also asked questions related to social, cultural, and educational activities, and exchanged views on the challenges they face, future plans, and opportunities for cooperation. Discussions were held on further strengthening the Azerbaijani diaspora in Qatar, engaging youth in the community, preserving national identity, and other priority areas.
The participants emphasized the importance of bringing the community together and noted the necessity of organizing such events on a regular basis.
