The meeting of the Working Group of Azerbaijani Diaspora Youth on the topic of the “Diaspora Youth: Towards Strategic Goals” was held at the Azerbaijan House in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. The meeting was attended by Azerbaijani young people who participated in the Summer Camps of Diaspora Youth. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played, the cherished memory of our heroes who were martyred for the territorial integrity of our homeland was honored with deep respect.
In his remarks, Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora spoke about the special role of youth in diaspora policy carried out under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev and developing on the basis of modern approaches. He noted that the diaspora is not only a cultural community but also powerful actor in the information war. Azerbaijani youth living in different countries around the world have also achieved success in this area, and they carry out valuable work in creating common discussion platforms and preserving national and cultural identity. The Chairman also highlighted the Diaspora Youth Summer Camps, noting that the camps help foster a sense of attachment to the homeland among young people.
Tahir Taghizadeh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Hungary, positively appreciated the efforts of diaspora youth and the event, wished success to the proceedings of the meeting.
A video featured the history of Summer Camps of Diaspora Youth and young people’s enthusiasm for them was shown. The meeting on the topic of the “Diaspora Youth: Towards Strategic Goals” was jointly organized by the Azerbaijan House in Hungary and the Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora. It was dedicated to the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty” and the 5th anniversary of our Glorious Victory in Karabakh.
The assembly was moderated by Vasila Vahidgizi, Head of Department of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora.
The meeting continued with a broad exchange of views and the presentation of proposals for the future.
