TEHRAN, Iran, June 20. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said that Iran is expanding trade with regional countries to become a connecting route between South and East Asian countries and Europe, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Raisi pointed out that the Iranian government's priority is to play an effective role in increasing regional integration by expanding trade through Iranian lands as a secure route.
Raisi underlined the capacity of Iran's North-South and East-West corridors to develop relations with Asia and European countries.
Recently, with the presence of the presidents of Iran and Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan's transit rail road to Turkiye via Iran was inaugurated, and the first freighter train left Tehran for Turkey to mark the start of using Iran for transiting Kazakh goods to Europe.
The two presidents agreed upon the expansion of mutual coordination and collaboration in different fields, including the railroad.
