BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 25. Turkmenistan and Austria will hold a meeting of the joint economic commission, Spokesperson of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria, head of Department for Press and Information Gabriele Juen told Trend.
"In late November the 11th Session of the Joint Austrian-Turkmen Economic Commission will be held in Ashgabat (Turkmenistan). An Austrian business delegation will travel to Turkmenistan on this occasion and we hope that this meeting will generate fresh momentum for our bilateral economic agenda," said the press secretary.
She stressed that despite considerable geographic distance, the friendly contacts between Austria and Turkmenistan have yielded good results in various areas.
"It is important to actively counter negative effects implied by the global economic downward trend. This also applies to our economic relations with Turkmenistan and this is one reason why we hold the bilateral Economic Commission in Ashgabat later this year," Juen said.
