Kazakhstan eyes exports increase to Pakistan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 26. Kazakhstan is prepared to supply Pakistani markets with 80 types of goods worth $411 million, Serik Zhumangarin, Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, said, Trend reports via the press service of the Ministry.

The statement was made in the framework of the 11th Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Pakistan.

“Thanks to our established economic ties, Kazakhstan is ready to export cereals and legumes, vegetable oil, pasta, flour, and confectionery products. We are additionally interested in importing fruits and vegetables. Kazakhstan considers Pakistan to be the most promising and important market in the South Asian region,” Zhumangarin noted in his opening speech.

In the framework of the meeting, Kazakhstan and Pakistan signed 9 Memorandums of Understanding on future cooperation between the nations in several fields. The areas of cooperation include agriculture, finance, air transportation, investment, and trade sectors of the economy.
