BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 19. Kazakhstan is ready to consider investment proposals from French companies and to provide a wide range of support tools, including regional support, Meirzhan Yussupov, Chairman of Board of KAZAKH INVEST JSC, said, Trendreports, citing the press service of the company.
He made the remark at the meeting with the delegation of French business representatives, among which such companies as Airbus, Alstom, Air Liquide, Assystem, Exa, Idemia, EDF, Vicat, Meridiam, Orano Mining, Oberthur Technologies, Veolia, Thales, Voltalia, and others were present.
The sides agreed on increasing the volume of investments in such priority sectors as energy, petrochemical, mechanical engineering, aviation industry, cement and construction materials production.
New French companies engaged in nuclear, gas and energy sectors have also expressed interest in localizing their production in Kazakhstan.
The current visit of the French business delegation is a continuation of the implementation of agreements on investment projects and proposals agreed upon during the official visit of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to France on November 29-30, 2022.
Meanwhile, currently, more than 170 French companies are successfully operating in Kazakhstan.
France is one of Kazakhstan's key trading partners. As of 2022-end, the volume of bilateral trade between the two countries has recovered to the pre-pandemic levels, amounting to $4 billion, with an increase of 35.3 percent year-on-year. Of this, exports from Kazakhstan accounted for $3.1 billion, while imports totaled $0.9 billion.
France is also among the TOP-5 largest investors in Kazakhstan since 2005, having invested more than $17 billion.
