BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 23. Iran's imports from Turkmenistan decreased by 32.7 percent in value and 27.2 percent in volume, during the first 11 months of the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through February 19, 2023), compared to the same period of the preceding Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
According to the statistics, Iran imported a total of 32,000 tons of goods worth approximately $22.4 million from Turkmenistan within the mentioned 11 months.
Whereas, Iran’s imports from Turkmenistan stood at about 44,000 tons worth $33.3 million in the same period of the preceding Iranian year.
Iran mainly imported industrial products, various equipment, raw materials, fabric, etc. from Turkmenistan over the reporting period.
Within 11 months, Iran's non-oil trade turnover with Turkmenistan amounted to 1.2 million tons worth approximately $436 million.
Meanwhile, Iran imported a total of 33.6 million tons of goods worth $53.7 billion within the first 11 months of the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through February 19, 2023). This is an increase of 15.2 percent in value, while a decrease of 8.61 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
