BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 15. Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bolat Akchulakov reported on the ongoing activities to increase the electricity capacity, Trend reports citing the government.
“The ministry gave instructions on commissioning electricity capacities and the timely implementation of electricity network reinforcement projects of the Southern and Western zones of the Unified Electricity System (UES). Some 340 MW of electric power have been commissioned thus far, and an additional 240 MW of power is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2022,” Akchulakov said at a government meeting.
According to him, modernization measures of the National Electric Grid are currently underway, including:
- construction and installation activities on electricity network expansion of the Western energy zone, the completion date of which is 2023.
- development of feasibility study on electricity network reinforcement of the Southern energy zone.
“The terms of the project will be determined after developing the feasibility study,” the minister added.
