BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 7. Kazakhstan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) continue to work out the implementation of several projects in various fields, a source at ADB told Trend.
The source noted that the ADB is working with the government on several potential projects in finance, transport, and urban infrastructure.
“In the financial sector, we plan to continue working with non-bank financial institutions to advance financial inclusion and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises development, with a strong focus on gender,” the representative added.
In terms of private sector operations, the ADB priorities include decarbonization of the economy by financing renewable energy projects and retrofitting coal-fired power plants to gas technologies, which would lower air pollution in selected cities.
The ADB representative noted that ADB remains committed to working with Kazakhstan on improving the environmental situation.
Earlier, the source at the ADB said that the Bank is preparing a new Country Partnership Strategy for 2023-2027, which focuses on addressing the impacts of climate change and supporting decarbonization in Kazakhstan.
